Beloved TV Star, Sherman Hemsley, dies at age 74, but George Jefferson will live on!
A smile would always find its way to my lips when the theme song began. The Jeffersons was one of my favorite childhood sitcoms, an original. Of course, Sherman Hemsley appeared in other shows, but his most known role was that of George Jefferson in the witty show about the owner of a dry cleaning shop who is “moving on up to the east side, to a delux apartment in the sky”.
I personally loved the way he and the maid, Florence ( played by Marla Gibbs ) would banter back and forth. I got a lot of inspiration for who I am today through them, I believe. George and “Weezy” (Isabel Sandford) first appeared on All in the Family where George and Archie eventually, after much name calling, began to become friends and change eachothers views on race. The Jeffersons also introduced America to another tv first: a mixed-race couple.

A Sad Goodbye...

Change Happens...
Change… love it or hate it, it will happen!
Some love change. They are like a leaf that has fallen from a mighty oak tree and is blowing in the wind. It doesn’t matter where they land, they will make the best of it. Others are like robots, doing the same thing day after day after day and if something were to change, they would surely short-circuit. I like to think of myself as somewhere in between. I do like to have structure and routine. I like to have plans and know what I am doing and when. Most of the time if a friend calls me last minute to do something, I am hesitant because I already made plans. But on the other hand, I am not so rigid that I can not roll with the punches when something unexpected comes along. Take my being laid-off for example.
July 31st is my last day at work with my co-workers who have become friends and some more like family. When I first heard about there being lay-offs I almost prayed that I was one. Even when it was known that , yes, I was one of those who could say goodbye, I held my head high, confident that all will be well. Don’t get me wrong, I KNOW all will be well. After alll , God is my Provider and since He owns everything in this world and I am His child, what do I have to fear? It’s the CHANGE that’s bothering me!! I have been on one official interview so far and really do NOT want to work there. I don’t really know why, I just don’t. As much as I hate the change, in some ways I am excited for the change.
With change comes growth and learning. I’m hopeful and excited to see just what God has in store for me. How is He going to promote me? There are so many things I am interested in, so many ways I am stepping out of my old ways.
One way, is this right here. Blogging for money. Now I had started a blog, a few in fact, a few years ago. I wasn’t always faithful about keeping up with any of them, but I did add adsense to them and have made very little money so far. I really hold myself accountable for that though since it was I who didn’t keep up with them. I am hoping now to get that going again. And blogging through triond.com is great. I can write about whatever I want to at the time instead of following a set theme. I will still use my other sites, however.
Another way I am stepping out is with some of the jobs I have applied for. My background is restaurants and phlebotomy. I have put in for a child abuse investigator ( which I don’t fully qualify, but I tried! ) and sales. I am not a strong sales person, in my opinion, but my husband has faith in me and that helps me tremendously!
Sure, part of me just wants to stay home, kick back and collect unemployment. But Proverbs 13:4 tells us “The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied” and 2Thessalonians 3:10 says, “For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.” and then there’s Proverbs 10:4 “A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.” God obviously opposes being lazy and therefore I will not bring that upon myself and my family. Now, of course, if I really do make money and able to keep up with my blogging, that’s not being lazy now is it? We’ll see.
So that’s the plan for my “change” as of now. Look into this sales job that I have a very good chance of getting and can make some serious money doing and keep blogging and looking for legitimate ways to earn money online.
Oh another website I have joined trying to make some legitimate dough is Strong Future International. Check out my blog about it and from there you can visit their website through a link on the page. http://www.mystrongfuture.blogspot.com/.
So thanks for listening!

My New Endeavor....
So, I am facing being laid-off in just a couple of weeks and I have been desperately trying to find a new job. I have put in so many apps, it's crazy, and so far... nothing. I am supposed to be interviewing this week for a temp agency for my field, so I am hopeful there. Anyhow, facing the very real possibility that I will be without fulltime work very soon, I have also been looking and checking out other avenues. I have a business that I want to open, but don't currently have the revenue to start it, but I have found something else that's completely FREE and will give me a nice start and other possibilities! It's called "Strong Future International" (SFI) and it's amazing! Let me share with you directly off their website "About us".
"SFI (Strong Future International) Marketing Group was launched in 1998. Starting with just one product, sold only in the United States, SFI has now grown to more than 52000 products and services (and growing daily) sold in more than 190 countries around the world.
"SFI was created to allow anyone with a computer and Internet access the opportunity to tap into the worldwide e-commerce revolution. Anyone of legal age in his or her country can become an SFI affiliate for free by filling out an online registration form. There is no obligation or purchase requirements of any kind.
"Once registered, affiliates are provided with professional Websites for marketing SFI's products on the Internet. SFI also provides all necessary sale support services, such as customer service, payment processing, and product shipment – all at no cost to the affiliate. For each sale generated, SFI pays the referring affiliate a commission. Additional commissions can be earned by building and leading affiliate groups.
"The mark of a successful company can be seen in its track record. SFI is now in its 13th year, with millions of dollars in annual sales and millions paid in commissions to thousands of affiliates around the world. SFI's parent company, Carson Services, Inc., is now in its 26th year of business. It's a longtime member of the Better Business Bureau and is registered with Dun and Bradstreet. SFI affiliates operate with the peace of mind brought about by associating with a proven, debt-free organization with a long, successful history.
"SFI President and CEO, and founder of SFI, is Gery Carson. From 1985 to 1998, Gery was a top marketer and record-breaking distributor for several direct sales companies and a successful business magazine publisher. Known for his innovation, Gery has been a pioneering force in the direct mail and Internet marketing industries for more than two decades. His extraordinary achievements as an entrepreneur have been spotlighted in "Money Maker's Monthly," "Upline," "Opportunity World Magazine," and in numerous books and videos. National recognition has also included being named to 1992's Outstanding Young Men of America list and 1997's Who's Who in the Media and Communications.
"In 1998, Gery set out to "put a dent in the universe" by creating SFI, a ground-breaking program that would utilize the Internet to empower and enrich the lives of millions of people around the world. Today, with 10831 new affiliates joining in the last week alone, SFI is one of the fastest growing companies of its kind in the world and is well on its way to achieving Gery's vision."

SFI is now also linked with TripleClicks which is an auction site that has Pricebender Auctions where you could win things like a wireless printer for just $.72.... yes, that says seventy-two cents! You can also, of course, sell your own items as well.
I am very excited about this opportunity! As not only can I sell my own things on TripleClicks, but I can share this opportunity with others, like yourself, and help them to achieve their financial goals. Whether you want to replace your current job or supplement your income, the possibility is there with SFI and TripleClicks. I am determined to make my dreams come true!
