Well, with further investigation, I have found that many women do not test positive for several weeks with a UPT or sometimes, even with a blood test. This is due to the HcG Hormone that the tests look for. Normally, after conception and implantation, the baby begins to secrete this hormone which signals to the ovaries to quit ovulatling and it prevents a woman's 'period'. However, sometimes it's a very small amount of the HcG or it's delayed. This is why some women have a period or two ( or sometimes even more! ) while they are pregnant and why it's hard to get a positive result sometimes. I do remember that with my other kids, I knew that I was pregnant long before the test showed it.
In other news.... Thanksgiving was really nice. I had to tell Mike's sister that I thought I was pregnant because she kept offering me alcohol ( LOL ). And eventually, I also told his mom. She was happy and hopeful. She made me feel like part of the family too, even before I told her. It was great. See, Mike's ex is still 'part of the family' and most of the time, I feel like I'm an intruder. Mike says its all in my head, but I have my reasons for thinking this. This time it was different, however. She and I actually spent time together and I helped her clean her kitchen and stuff. I really enjoyed it.
My mother-in-law is also very stubborn. She decided that she wanted to put up Christmas lights herself. So, she put a bar stool on top of a plastic lawn chair in her front yard to reach the top of her porch. Now, the front lawn slopes down towards the lake, so guess what happened? Do I really have to say it? Yes, the ambulance took her to the ER where we found out that she shattered her elbow and broke her wrist. She ended up with two plates and some pins in her elbow and one plate in her wrist. The Dr. said it was really bad, but surgery went really well. Once we knew she pulled through surgery well, we had a good time laughing at her. Especially since she was on drugs, she was quite amusing - trying to move her arm and hour after she came out of recovery! She was so upset that she couldn't move her arm! She's supposed to come home today. I think that I will see if I can make some sort of cassarole or something for them since I know that my sister-in-law will be really tired too. She's barely left the hospital since the accident.
I have also decided that I MUST re-organize my home! I used to be so organized, but I don't know what happened over the last few years. I'm going to contact Goodwill and maybe Hibiscus House and see if they can come pick up stuff for donation including my home gym. Maybe if I can empty the garage and be able to get to my filing cabinet, it'll help. Plus, then I'll also be able to go through the boxes in my bedroom and transfer storage stuff to plastic boxes and put stuff away in an organized manner. I really wish that I could simply take like 2 wks off work and get someone to help me and just get it all done! Since I can't really do this, then I'm going to try to get the stuff picked up today or tomorrow and then do a little eachday. I'm off the week of Christmas, so I can take a day or two there also, maybe.
Ok, for now, I will make those calls and finish up some other stuff. TTFN!
